Job Summary:

As an Associate Tech Lead, you will be responsible for designing Trane Commercial HVAC equipment and systems and developing concepts for new and improved designs by collaborating with a highly-capable engineering organization to take ideas from concept to reality and into mass production. You will run lab validation tests to make sure the products operate safely and reliably for our customers over a long time, no matter the application. You will also have opportunities to learn from some of the industry’s best people, while having opportunities to develop leadership skills by running projects that support the business.
Responsibilities:
Understand project requirements, collaborate with project owners, leaders & cross-functional teams across the globe for the delivery of projects, by adhering to standard processes, systems, and project management principles
Ensure the completion of project milestones/deliverables within committed Quality (Q), Delivery (D), Project cost (C) &Product cost (C) targets.
Ability to solve technical problems, identify solutions, participate in concept reviews, critical design reviews, other technical discussions with the global team.
Develop concepts, design/select & develop components along with suppliers, develop component specifications for structural component (metal, non-metal) and assemblies.
Significant knowledge on DFMEA, DVPR, A3, Product development process & hands on experience on problem solving tools.
Good understanding of the basics of Mechanical engineering.
Clear Verbal & communications skills. Ability to work seamlessly across functions & a multiple levels of the organization.
Use of ideation to improve VAVE project pipeline & managing VAVE projects till launch as Engineering & project manager.
Good Knowledge of metal & Non-metal component design, assy, Mfg process.
Basic knowledge in refrigeration components & systems. Basics of Electrical system / components would be added advanatage.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 – 8 years of engineering experience is required.
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.

Detailed understanding of mechanical engineering principles
Fluent in MS Office applications
Good teamwork skills
Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
Ability to follow internal engineering design processes and best practices
Ability to complete tasks/deliverables in a multi-tasking environment (several concurrent assignments) on time.
Work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Ability to quickly and efficiently understand and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions
Good understanding of GD&T for design application considering manufacturing process & tooling limitations.
Demonstrates innovation & initiative approach at work, ability to develop new methods and approaches.
