As a member of the Global Technology practice, this Information Technology DevOps role will participate in the design and development of complex Ab Initio applications. The role is also responsible for helping to define, implement and enforce standards and best practices across the department.

How You Will Contribute

Partner with global TransUnion technical teams to build the UK Data Management platform using agreed technologies & tooling working closely with the UK Tech Lead, Software Architect & Test Lead
Installing, automating and troubleshooting Ab Initio applications and solutions.
Ensuring the availability of CI/CD Pipelines to support Ab Initio builds and deployments.
Producing and maintaining installation and configuration documentation.
Actively participate with the UK development team using an agile approach.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional technology teams using the SCRUM methodology.
Ensure TransUnion design patterns, frameworks, and architectural standards are implemented consistently within the work delivered.
Identify risks that need to be managed.
Responsible for identifying the root cause of issues raised so preventative measures can be implemented.

What You Will Bring

Being passionate about data.
Hands on experience installing, automating and troubleshooting complex Ab Initio based applications and solutions.
Hands on experience of Ansible, Jenkins and Linux systems initially focused on CI/CD pipelines for a petabyte scale data processing platform in AWS.
Experience with the broader Abinitio tool suite such as Express>It, Continuous Flows, Control Center, Query>it etc
Good use of Linux and shell scripting.
Experience of DevOps Methodologies.
Working knowledge of AWS.
Experience of deploying solutions using Continuous Integration/Deployment techniques.
Ability to communicate well, both with technical and non-technical staff
Willingness to take ownership of problems
A good understanding of the full software development lifecycle
A good understanding of general source control practices (structures, versioning, branching, tagging, merging)

Desirable skills

Exposure to high performing, low latency or large volume data systems.
Demonstrable understanding of how Ab Initio applications and systems interact with the underlying hardware ecosystem.
