About the job This position is needed to help Twilio develop, validate and deliver new capabilities in the Twilio Flex platform. You will be a member of a scrum team who will design, implement test frameworks and tools, automate tests, and act as the quality champion for Flex product. You will play a key role in setting up and building out the Flex engineering test capacity and capability in the Bengaluru office and build a center of excellence for Flex business unit. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to influence roadmap priorities, propose innovative solutions that will enable Twilio to achieve its goal of being the world’s most trusted customer engagement platform.
Responsibilities In this role, you will:

• Design and implement test frameworks and tools to support automated testing and CI/CD for Flex platform, backend and front end services.
• Create reusable scripts/tools to automate manual tasks
• Be an advocate for the customer’s success.
• Act as the quality champion for your team and Flex, bringing your unique perspective that challenges the team to think about security, resiliency, operability, scalability and observability.
• Develop test plans and automate acceptance criteria to drive quality practices in your team.
• Implement robust, high quality test automation for functional, regression, and performance testing
• Manage your work through the use of GitHub, Jira, and Twilio’s build/deploy systems.
• Collaborate with other team members, including Product leadership, influence, own, and improve Flex platform.
• Understand how customers use Flex product and bring the insights back to your team and evolve testing techniques.
• Actively participate in design, backlog grooming, Incident RCA meetings and Agile ceremonies, work with peers to meet team’s sprint commitments.
• Be responsible for documentation of projects you work on.
• Rapidly acquire new technical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, highly pioneering industry environment.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, and positively influence their learning and growth.

Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related proven experience.
• 9-11 years of software development and test experience in a modern programming language (Python, Java).
• Proven understanding of testing principles, testing types, and methodologies
• Experience writing and executing automated tests at different stages – unit, integration, chaos, scale, staging.
• Experience with automated test tools like- Selenium and open source automated test tools.
• Experience validating distributed and real time systems at scale based on microservices architecture.
• Experience with AWS, GCP or other public cloud infrastructure platforms.
• Experience with container technologies – Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with API testing clients such as Postman.
• Proficient in debugging issues and with debugging tools.
• Experience with white box testing tools and techniques such as Mockito.
• Proficient with security compliance testing, performance testing and with tools such as JMeter.
• Experience implementing modern automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Translate architecture vision and designs to test plans and test cases.
• Iterative development and deployment, Scrum and Agile methodologies.

• Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

Desired:

• Familiarity with streaming systems such as Kafka, Flink, Spark.
• Validating cloud applications in a multi region environment.
• Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
• Experience with Contact Center and Customer Engagement solutions.

Location This role will be located in our Bengaluru, India office. Approximately 5% travel is anticipated.
