Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:

Duties
Incumbent will work as an American Citizen Services Assistant in the American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit of the Consular Section. This position reports to the Senior Supervisory ACS Specialist and is responsible for providing the full range of emergency and non-emergency American Citizens Services, including assisting with passport and citizenship adjudication and supporting ACS services related to Federal Benefits, welfare and whereabouts, financial assistance to destitute citizens, registration of births and deaths abroad and monitoring of arrest cases. The position maintains contact with host government officials, police, immigration, and prison authorities who interact with U.S. citizens in crisis or in emergency situations.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years of progressively responsible work involving public contact, customer service and application of regulatory material is required. (Please describe your previous and current job responsibilities in detail.)
Key Requirements:
University degree is required.
Three years of work experience (See Experience section).
English, Hindi, Marathi & Gujarati language reqd. (See language section)

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Fluency (speaking, reading and writing) in English is required. Good working knowledge (speaking and reading) of Hindi is required and limited knowledge (speaking and reading) of Marathi and Gujarati is required. This may be tested. (Please specify in your application your level of proficiency in each language listed here.)

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
