Duties

Basic Function of the Position: The position is located in the General Services Office (GSO), U.S. Embassy New Delhi. The incumbent is required to safely and efficiently operate an un-armored U.S. Government–owned or leased motor vehicle to transport passengers and/or cargo. S/he will work as a messenger as directed and will have to complete trip reports and vehicle use and fuel logs. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three years of professional full-time/incidental driving experience is required.

Education Requirements:
Successful completion of High School (Class X) is required.

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:
Level 2 (Limited) in English (Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is required.

Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in Hindi (Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Valid Indian Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license is required.

Please attach a copy of the valid Indian driving license with the application along with all the mandatory/required documents. Applications which do not have a copy of the license will not be accepted.

Please note: U.S. Government regulations require all Chauffeurs or Incidental drivers for official vehicles to be 25 years of age or older. We will not consider candidates below 25 years of age. Any applicant that possess a valid driving license issued for less than 5 years will not be considered. Please note 5 years should have been completed by the Closing date of the vacancy. If the applicant had renewed their driver’s license they must include copy of old and current driver’s license in order for HR to confirm the issuance date. Applicants not providing old and renewed driver’s license (if applicable) their application will not be considered for the position.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
