Duties
Basic Function of the Position: The position is located in the Information Resource Management Office, U.S. Embassy New Delhi. The incumbent performs switchboard customer service through Nortel Meridian computer-based M2250 operator console for the Embassy and the American Center. This involves attending incoming calls and making outgoing calls. The incumbent will provide general information to callers as needed. S/he will fulfil telephone conference call requests and connect long-distance calls for the Mission using switchboard guidelines. The incumbent handles highly complex and emergency calls and maintains the log book for the switchboard. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:
This position requires two years of experience as a telephone operator or handling external telephone calls as part of the job.

Education Requirements:
This position requires the successful completion of Senior Secondary School (Class XII).

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
