Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and savvy editorial lead to oversee our content editing needs in a fast-paced work environment. You will be leading a small team that will be working with a team of writers, reviewers and designers to curate compelling and accurate content for our organization. The primary duties will include defining copyediting guidelines, following a content strategy, proofreading and editing, and collaborating with writers to deliver quality projects on time.
To excel in this role, you will have experience in developing and editing content, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:

• Compile and update style guides and copyediting guidelines
• Develop and groom a network of vendors to serve the copyediting needs of the organization
• Manage team of copyeditors
• Manage the copyediting process of content at various stages of development to attain 100% accuracy
• Ensure uniformity and consistency across all content components
• Develop project specific work instructions
• Act as a mentor to subject matter experts and writers
• Perform editorial reviews of all types of content at all stages of production
• Develop project style guide and editorial training material
• Communicate and work with production team to ensure that content is published in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of Associated Press or Chicago Style.
• Ensure correct tone, voice, clarity, flow and structure of content.
• Ensure that content adheres to the in-house style guide.
• Collaborate with team to come up with fresh and creative ideas, keeping audience in mind.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and content best practices.

Requirements:

• Degree in journalism, English or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of ‘prove working experience’ as an editor.
• Experiencing in publishing and/or editing preferred.
• Advanced writing, editorial, and research skills.
• Awareness of the Editorial Style Guides.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Leadership and time management skills.
• Proficient in desktop publishing software and Microsoft Office.
