Job Description:
Role & responsibilities :
Develop and oversee the strategy for manpower planning /recruitment of plant workforce and in-plant trainees
Partner with manufacturing business on organizational design, compensation strategy, succession planning, and skills assessment and development
Lead audits on the shopfloor during plant visits and recommend any corrective measures, if required
Oversee the team that maintains periodic overtime and attendance data through monthly dashboards and MIS
Ensure timely and accurate filing and renewal by the team of compliance documentation and certificates such as Factory, Labour, Shop and Establishments License. Payroll process
Sign off on advisory letters/ memos to employees found guilty of bribery, commission, misconduct etc.
Lead and organize various events for activities such as distribution of wages, bonus, ex-gratia slips to workers
Manage dispute resolutions involving unions, management, employees, or government agencies, etc.
Implement provisions of service conditions as per negotiation settlement
Manage auditors during code of conduct audit conducted for suppliers and/or customers
Direct and coordinate the IR efforts, monitor statutory compliance and negotiation with Unions and stakeholders (external & internal)
Advise management on contract negotiations and similar management-union relations
Manage and mitigate employees grievances by ensuring supervisors and leaders are creating an open forum for discussion and resolution of the same
Liaise with government officials like factories inspector, labor department, local body and other government department based on the requirement.
Scan the market for latest trends, identify gaps in current processes and propose changes
Preferred candidate profile :
Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial relations with strong experience working with large blue-collar workforce, preferably in manufacturing setups with Masters degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent is preferred. Well versed with Union and labour laws related laws and thorough with Statutory compliances.
