Duties
Basic Function of the Position: The position is located in the Library of Congress (LOC) Office, American Center, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi. The incumbent will serve as LOC overseas expert in the acquisition, control, and management of South Asian serial publications (journals, newspapers , gazettes) for the LOC office, as well as 50 American, Canadian, and British universities. S/he will utilize various complex online modules and functionalities of Library of Congress Overseas Field Office Replacement System (OFORS) and the previous serials database Serials Check-in and Management (SCIMS) to (a) accurately order and renew subscriptions to approximately 5,000 titles; (b) correct bibliographic, enumerations and predictions; (c) distribute of 90,000 receipts; (d) claim for missing issues; (e) prepare 15,000 volumes of journals and magazines for binding. S/he will carry out other acquisitions and bibliographic services and administrative functions. The incumbent will be required to perform other duties as assigned by the agency.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: The position requires three years of experience in a library or a publisher or book store environment.

Education Requirements:
The position requires completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or Commerce or Library Science or Library and Information Science.

LANGUAGE:
Level 3 (Good working knowledge) in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. This may be tested.
AND
Level 4 (Fluent) in Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
