Overall Purpose of The Job The Planning Assistant will assist the Master Planner with data collection and in communicating the crew rotation plan to various stakeholders as well as contribute to data quality in ShipSure to ensure effective output of the crew planning engine.
The Planning Assistant will also work as integrated member of the Crew Operations team and to function in accordance with the crewing processes in order to ensure that each vessel assigned to them is:
a) Adequately and competently manned within a prescribe budget in accordance with the applicable ship management/crew management agreement; and,
b) To report all deficiencies to the Planning Manager
Key Responsibilities and Tasks 1. Assists in planning the appointment of personnel within his/her control in accordance with VMS, agreed terms and conditions of employment and specified experience/qualification requirements.
2. Assists the Planning Manager to ensure that manning levels comply with the Flag State and international requirements are compatible with maintenance needs and trading patterns.
3. Maintaining accurate and up to date records in ShipSure Crewing.
4. Produce related reports for the team on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis.
5. Other related tasks as may be assigned.

Required Experience ESSENTIAL:
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels.
- Through awareness and good understanding of cultural and diversity issues.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- Proven ability to work to and meet tight deadlines
DESIRABLE:
- Previous relevant experience working in the Crew department of a marine/crew management company is desirable.
