The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE, Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), EV.cloud, eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of professional experience working as part of a QA organization primarily on automation, test planning and hands on knowledge ofPython/Shell Scripting. The candidate should be self-motivated and passionate about quality. He/She will have a sustained and demonstrable track record of delivering high-quality solutions on-time and with high usability and performance. The candidate must demonstrate a strong technical competency in an environment that values accountability, quality, commitment and innovation.

Skills Needed

• BE (comp) or Masters in Computer Science
• Overall 6-8 years of software automation development experience
• Hands on scripting skills in Perl/ Python/ Shell or programming skills in C/C++ is a must
• Knowledge of various types of virtualization software (VMware, HyperV) is desired.
• End user experience of working onLinux/Unixoperating systems (Like Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, RedHat, SUSE) is essential.
• Knowledge of various types of storage systems [SAN, DAS, NAS] or testing FileSystems is a definite plus.
• CIFS, NFS, S3protocolknowledge is a plus.
• Experience in developingautomation frameworkpreferably for an enterprise product is desired.
• Database experience in using Oracle, MongoDB, DB2, is desired.
• Experience in working with analytics and new-age applications is a plus.
• Outstanding troubleshooting skills required.
• Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

o Responsible for the overall automation strategy, tools and technologies selection for the product test automation – includes unit/component/feature test automation.

o Define and communicate the test automation vision, high-level roadmap, overall test architecture and engineering considerations to the entire team.

o Share automation best practices & set high standards for the entire team to build consistent maintainable automation & automation subsystems

o Work with agile teams to provide sizing and effort estimates.

Experience with static and runtime code analysis tools to analyze and improve code quality, performance and security aspects.
