Vinebrook Technology is looking for a passionate Network Administrator. This is a remote position.. This position is for an experienced candidate who will work within the Network team with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Aruba experience and loves deploying new network hardware. Qualifications
Provide the minimum education, experience, and skills required to perform the job successfully.
· Bachelor’s Degree or 5-7 years of equivalent experience in enterprise/campus network design and engineering
· Demonstrated ability to perform service level planning and design
· In depth knowledge of OSI layer 2, 3, 4 technologies
· Demonstrated ability of supporting campus networking infrastructure
· Active scripting knowledge is a plus
· Must be fluent in Cisco command line programming
· In depth understanding of routing protocols
· Demonstrated history of effective teamwork and collaboration
· Proven track record of creating and implementing MOP’s/SOP’s for a network
· Certifications in Cisco, Aruba Wireless Clearpass and Palo Alto Firewalls are a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Operations:
– Participates fully in all day-to-day activities across all functional CI domains
– Performs basic service level planning and design functions in at least one functional domain for campus networking
– Leads building, configuring, and running CI systems within established designs and practices.
– Completes incidents and requests within established service level objectives.
– Serves as a technical escalation point for major incident response
– Acts as an incident commander for minor or non-service impacting incidents
– Work with various CI teams to create, improve, and implement automation schemes
Development:
– Establishes and implements thresholds/baselines/benchmarks for network performance and faults for campus networking
– Monitors network systems for faults, performance, or deviations from benchmarks
Partnership/Collaboration:
– Collaborates with CI functional domain leaders to develop and implement best practices.
– Builds and maintains relationships with external vendor technicians and engineers
– Builds, fosters and expands collaborative relationships with all ITS teams through a focus on improving outcomes.
Documentation/Training:
· Creates and maintains accurate and concise documentation (including diagrams) of network systems and services
· Actively mentor’s Junior staff
· Expands proficiency in effectively utilizing ITSM software
· Focuses on developing expert level knowledge, skills abilities in a specific functional domain
· Performs training to maintain a high level of network knowledge, skills abilities.
