What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

VMware Tanzu Observability by Wavefront, leading observability platform for enterprises in the cloud era, dramatically fast growing delivering high demanded features to market. You will work on improving Enterprise aspects which will enable our customers to meet their Monitoring and Observability needs of modern microservices-based applications, workloads running on on-perm and SaaS environments.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

You enjoy researching and developing Wavefront Integrations for new technologies, improving customer onboarding experience, you participate in open source community and you thrive in technically leading initiatives. You are passionate about understanding Observability aspects of modern microservices-based applications—with the built-in support for key health metrics, histograms, and distributed tracing and span logs for common languages and frameworks.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• You will get to work on multiple software languages such as Java,go and Python.

• You will get to work on open-source Software’s like Docker, Kubernetes and Telegraf.

• You will get to develop Adapters, sdk’s and plugins for open-source Software’s and contribute to open-source community.

• You will get to build integrations and dashboards to monitor, observe and troubleshoot various on-perm and SaaS products.

• You will get to work closely with customer to create POC’s using Tanzu Observability platform.

• You will participate in code and design reviews.

• You will mentor junior members in the team and collaborate with validation team.

• You will get to collaborate with globally distributed teams via Slack or e-mail.

• You will closely work with Product Management team in identifying product gaps and road map.

• We want you to be curious, learning both from team members and individual study.

The hiring manager for this role is Srinivas Kandula, Engineering Manager. Srini has spent 7 years at Vmware working on various projects in Infrastructure and Application Management space, currently leading Wavefront integrations team in Bangalore.
