Business Unit Summary:

With the advent of Cloud IOT, edge computing is emerging as new frontier to blend the physical and virtual world, and enable new ways of solving problems, and deliver new experiences not available before. As industry shifts from customer managed IT infrastructure to consuming infrastructure as a service and also from centralised intelligence to distributed edge intelligence, edge computing presents great opportunities for growth and innovation. As the leader of private, public and hybrid cloud, VMware is extending its offering to the on-prem and edges, and bringing benefits of cloud to the on-prem and edge.
As a member of this team, you will play a key role in understanding customer use cases and defining the end–to-end behaviour of the solution. This solution will involve developing a highly scalable SaaS service, an easy to use on-prem hyper converged infrastructure (HCI) and integrating with our SD-WAN product, Velocloud.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
 Work closely with team to understand product changes, involve in product design, implementation, deployment and monitoring
 Component development, framework development and also work on entire software lifecycle (req analysis,design, develop, test and maintenance).
 Work on scale, deployment and monitoring
 Experience using and developing large scale networking and distributed systems.
 Experience using and developing for scalability and performance and designing/integrating large-scale systems.
 Ensure our software meets feature, stability, performance and backward compatibility requirements.
Requirements:
 B.S or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent
 10+ years as a Development engineer with experience developing REST API, Python, Java (should be willing to take up Python projects)
 Should be very strong in Data structure and algorithms & must be a problem solver.
 Experience on Amazon Web Services (AWS) like EC2, S3, VPC would be a plus.
 Understanding layer3, layer4 protocols, understanding of IPSec, SSL VPN, datacenter network topologies, stretched networks, DNAT, SNAT, firewalls
 Knowledge on Containerization (Docker, Kubernaties)
 Knowledge of networking, Virtualization, datacenter configurations, systems side programming and software.
 Knowledge of VMware vSphere, NSX and APIs.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
