We are now looking for a:
Lead Geometric Architect : Powertrain

As Lead Geometrical Architect, you are the owner of the complete powertrain geometry within the project & take lead in cross commodity geometrical activities to fulfil the project QDCCF requirements. You coordinate the geometrical and powertrain data expert activities throughout all phases in a product project.
You bring complete powertrain knowledge and deliver optimized and commonized architecture by balancing customer needs while protecting brand distinction.

By visualizing requirements and facilitating communication between different units, you create clarity and structure in ambiguous and conflicting conditions.

Your key responsibilities

General

• Deliver quality secured geometry towards the projects. To solve packaging / geometry issues between different commodities. This include tolerances, weight, main dimensions bodybuilder suitability…etc
• Set up the cross functional packaging organization and Packaging Issue Log (PIL)
• Propose solutions for complete offer scenario / packaging.
• Analyse and propose common solutions that can support all brands in order to minimize part numbers and maximize common parts.
• Give input regarding geometrical matters to stakeholders (Global Manufacturing (GM), Aftermarket (AM) and commodities (ex. Cab, Chassis, Electrical..etc), from a complete powertrain perspective.

Planning

• Build geometry verification plan (virtual builds, physical builds B/C, DMU structure)
• Show progress (by PIL) and status for all geometry related activities
• Identify A-interface impacts and balance project geometrical requirements with platform requirements according to A-interface process, in collaboration with the area leader.
• Drive Digital Mock up (DMU structure) deliveries according to DMU logic

Decision Making

• Take all necessary geometrical decisions within frame decided by the product decision forums, in order to achieve agreed product requirements,
• Estimate the resource needed to secure the complete powertrain geometry
• Utilize the resources within given frames.
• Secure implementation of geometrical verification method, taking into account area complexities, time and cost.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Graduate/Post Graduate or other equivalent education.
• Experienced in truck products
• At least 10 years of experience in product development or similar whereof five years as Geometrical Architect
• Fully Proficient in CAD & PLM tools for big assemblies
• Fluent in English (verbal and written)
