Role Summary / Purpose Responsible for programing a component, feature and or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. Ability to take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members. In this role, you will be part of Train Performance & Automation Offboard team, and will be responsible for building and maintaining large real time distributed systems and building modern and responsive user interfaces. Essential Responsibilities

• Responsible for building a component, feature and or feature set by collaborating with the product team to understand the requirements.
• Contributes to design of component/feature/feature set.
• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
• Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices.
• Helps drive pair programming practices and code reviews across the team.
• Works with fellow team members to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions and proactively contributes for maintenance of availability and performance of system.
• Demonstrates awareness of product positioning and key differentiators.
• Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems.
• Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using appropriate chosen language.
• Applies principles of SDLC and Agile/XP/TDD/CI/CD methodologies to deliver high quality, secured, and scalable software modules.
• Promotes transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
• Demonstrates expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog.

Qualification / Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development in Java, micro services, distributed systems and database systems (JAVA, RESTful services, Oracle/Postgres/MySQL).
• Experienced in building modern, responsive user interfaces ( HTML, Angular, Bootstrap ).
• Good to have experience in building and implementing applications / microservices on containerized platform such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Good to have experience in building and implementing solutions on cloud ( preferably AWS or Azure or others ).
• Excellent knowledge with development tools & integrated build systems: Eclipse IDE, Gitlab/Jenkins/Maven.
• Experienced in building applications which handle large amounts of data.
• Experienced in Agile methodology and working with Agile development teams.
• Experienced in working in Linux/Unix/QNX and Windows environments.
• Experienced in working with relational databases like Oracle , Postgres.
• Experienced with CI/CD process and tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins.
• Strong Debugging and Troubleshooting Expertise.
• Proficient in unit and integration testing.
