Responsibilities:
This is the intermediate job level. Check and test samples of a product, as it would be impractical to test every single item that leaves a factory or workshop. Inspect products purchased by their company from suppliers and maintain records of supplier performance. This data is important in helping suppliers to improve their performance and for making decisions regarding which suppliers can be relied on to meet specified requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order)
Inspection of Components / Sub Assembly / Assembly as per drawing.
Layout Inspection of Part / Component.
First Piece Approval during the Manufacturing.
Set up Inspection for Inprocesses and First Piece Operation / Process for further mass Production or Process Approval
Sampling Inspection as applicable to the Work Order considering Acceptance Criteria relevant to the Work Order under execution
Fit-up Inspection for Welding / Assembling
Marking of Items/ Stamping : Inspection & Performamnce of Marking
Review of Certificates for Incoming Stage of Inspection.
Calibration Record Manitenance and coordination with associated departments and external Labs for Inspection task.
Updation of Inspection Status on software like ERP / SAP
Acting as key coordinator when requirements of NDE is applicable.
Record updation for NCRs like Incoming Stage of Inspection / Inprocess Satge / Final Stage
Handling of Measuring & Monitoring Resources
Visual Inspection of components / Assemblies
Hardness Testing as applicable to the Items / Equipment.
Inspection & Testing of items / Equipment at Suppliers / Vendor end /
Statistical Quality Control Activities for the Monitoring of Inspection activities performance. Continual Improvement, Process Capabilities Studies etc.
Inspection of Components / Items / Equipment after Rework if any
Key person from Quality Control for Root Cause Analysis among the Cross functional Team / Department who are implementing Correction, Correction Action after Root Cause Analysis.
First Stage or First Level review & acceptance of implemented Correction & Corrective Action
Performing Inspection with the criteria like QCP / ITP in coordination and / or Jointly with Third Party Inspectors.
Internal Audit and External Audit Handling
Interdepartment coordination for timely delivery of Inspection Outcome.
Implementing 7 QC Tools, 5’S’, WHY-WHY ANALYSIS, FISHBONE DIAGRAM
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI with minimum 5 Years experience in an inspection role in a similar manufacturing facility.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 in a productive environment.
Desirable Traits:
Knowledge of Documented Information of Inspection Activities as applicable up to L5 according to OEPS, ISO9001, APIs Standards with Latest editions.
NDT Level II in RT (Preferable), UT, PT, MPI, VT is desirabable but not essential.
Inspection knowledge of elastomers as applicable in the scope of APIs Standard
Inspection knowledge of special characterstics like Standard Threads/ API Threads / VAM Threads
Preferable of Performing Paiting Inspection as applicable in accordance with NACE Standards.
Welding Inspection certification is preferable like AWS/ CSWIP
Performing Drift Inspection, Hydrostatic Pressure Testing.
