About the Role:
The CS Cyber Security Defense and Monitoring group is looking for an Information Security Senior Engineer to join our Cyber Security Defense and Monitoring Team in the areas of Cyber Threat Fusion Center. The Information Security Senior Engineer will participate in the monitoring, identification, analysis, case management and response actions at one of our 24×7 global information security operations centers. The engineer will play a pivotal role in maintaining security sensors, designing, testing, and implementing information security solutions, as well as conducting advanced information security operations monitoring and incident response and Threat hunting.
Responsibilities:
The person selected will be responsible for performing proactive hunt in order to protect the bank.
Carry out detailed analysis of suspicious / critical events on daily basis to hunt for potential security threats in environment. Incidents/tickets will be logged for further action. Will also notify content engineering team to develop new (custom) use cases to address and detect similar threats on an ongoing basis.
Hunting for malicious or anomalous activity across the enterprise, using existing tools. Acting in co-ordination with Cyber Threat Fusion Center’s staff to lead the development and implementation of an advanced analysis and search capability focused on identifying potentially sophisticated APT and insider threat activities within the organization.
Identified threats be investigated thoroughly by coordinating with respective technology teams, take corrective measures, validate, and close the same.
Researching new and existing threat actors and associated tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs); developing a detailed understanding of their potential impact to the organization, providing recommended solutions for improving our defensive and detective capability.
Collaboration with the wider Cybersecurity functions, e.g: Red Team, to develop hypotheses for new attack techniques and evasion methods.
Coordinating threat hunting activities, leveraging intelligence from multiple internal and external sources.
Providing expert analytic investigative support on large scale and complex security incidents.
Contributing to the continued evolution of hunting, monitoring, detection, analysis and response capabilities and processes
Training, developing, mentoring, and inspiring colleagues across the function in area(s) of specialism, strengthening Cybersecurity Operations capabilities.
Essential Qualifications :
Must have 6+ years of Cyber Security experience specifically working in Security Operations
Must have 6+ years of experience with enterprise SIEM solutions
Must have basic understanding on cyber kill chain, MITRE framework and NIST framework.
Demonstrated experience in Security Incident Response, Mitigation and Remediation methodologies
Ability to manage complex security scenarios and develop innovative solutions to address the most recent cyber threats
Advanced knowledge of networks, protocols, standards, Linux/Unix/Window OS internals, and system configuration
Experience with least one scripting language, such as: PowerShell, Python, Bash, PHP, etc.
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in computer science or information systems
CISSP, OSCP, CEH or other relevant certifications highly preferred
Desired Qualifications :
Knowledge and understanding of banking or financial services industry.
Experience working in a large enterprise environment.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge and understanding of data security controls including malware protection, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, content filtering, Internet proxies, encryption controls, and log management solutions.
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Ability to handle confidential material in a professional manner.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
