Install, configure and manage Oracle Databases in a Linux environment
Maintain and monitor backup of databases
Manage Database Objects
Monitor performance of Database and their servers: CPU, IO, memory and storage
Perform Database Query tuning as required
Diagnose and correct database availability and reliability issues
Provide root cause analysis for Critical issues and suggest and implement corrective actions
Implement Security measures to ensure controlled access to database.
Collect Database performance metrics for weekly/monthly and quarterly review
Work with DBA lead to design database strategies, monitor and improve database performance and capacity, plan for future expansion requirements.
Participate in 24×7 on-call support in supporting databases across multiple regions and time-zones
Work closely with infrastructure and application teams in supporting projects and enhancement requirements

Qualifications

5 to 7 years of Database administration with Oracle
Experience working in a VMware/Linux environment
Experience supporting databases on a third party cluster environment like Veritas Cluster
Excellent written, and verbal communication skills
Experience with backup and recovery including planning and implementing backup/recovery solution. Exposure to Veritas NetBackup preferred
Experience with shell scripting
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Should be a team player with strong interpersonal skills
