Purpose
Design and develop safe, cost effective and time effective solutions that meet the BHP Billiton Clientxe2x80x99s objectives.

• Coordinate the electrical & instrumentation design, construction support and commissioning activities for

projects appointed by the Lead Electrical Engineer.

• Ensure all developed designs comply with Australian and BHP Billiton Olympic Dam Standards.

Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment and sustainable development.

• Become conversant with and follow the Olympic Dam Alliance (ODA) Project Delivery Framework.

• With the ODA Project Manager and Client determine the project scope to satisfy the Clientxe2x80x99s

requirements.

• Prepare reports, schedules and estimates to execute proposed project scope.

• Co-ordinate the preparation of detailed design and Contract documentation.

• Ensure design complies with Australian and BHP Billition Olympic Dam Standards and specifications.

• Ensure design satisfies the objectives of the project.

• Prepare and implement commissioning plans for wet and hot commissioning.

• Assist the electrical construction team members to ensure project design objectives are being met.

• Proactively resolve performance, scope, budget and schedule issues with the ODA Project Manager as

they arise.

• Maintain open and effective communication channels to share knowledge, contacts, experience and

expertise.

• Provide assistance to the Lead Electrical Engineer.

• Manage minor/medium size projects allocated by the ODA Management as the Project Manager.

• Ensure that capital expenditure complies with the Clientxe2x80x99s capital approval process.

• Contribute to the development, monitor the status and take proactive actions of approved scope, budgets

and schedule

Essential skills/experience

• Minimum two years design experience.

• Minimum two years practical/site experience.

• Mining and/or heavy industry experience.

• Personal leadership.
