Assistant Manager – Supplier Development (Work Location : Chennai)

We are looking out for a new colleague for our “Supplier Development” department in Porur, Chennai.

Your Tasks:
Provide global Purchasing team with Risk Assessment based on supplier capability.

Conduct Technical Reviews to assess feasibility to manufacture and measure parts.

Lead / support in executing APQP to ensure compliance of Process & Product to ZF requirements (e.g., QD83….) and meeting Division / BU project goals.

Lead / support PPAP runs at Supplier end to ensure processes are ready for serial condition.

Conduct Run @ Rate as part of APQP to evaluate the availability of serial capacity.

Lead / Support in trouble shooting technical issues during APQP / PPAP, Safe launch phase.

Network with cross functional teams to resolve bottleneck issues for on-time delivery of parts.

Coach Suppliers on ZF requirements, to facilitate submission of flawless APQP / PPAPs.

Lead Product / Process, Process maturity audits, conduct short supplier assessments, lead short Supplier Development / improvement projects.

Your Profile:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical /Automobile/Production Engineering & Possess technical expertise / fair exposure in the commodity such as Sheet metal, Stamping, Iron Casting, Aluminum Gravity die casting (GDC)

7 – 11 years of experience in supplier development / supplier quality from Automotive / Off Highway industry.

Extensively practiced automotive APQP/ PAPP/MSA/SPC /FMEA requirements. Conversant with Problem solving techniques and Quality tools. Strong analytical ability / inquisitiveness to learn and adapt to new manufacturing processes.

Possess strong abilities in planning, coordinating, executing, coaching, decision-making, trouble shooting and reporting.

Certification for IATF Internal auditor, VDA Auditor …or similar will be an added advantage.
