The Dealer Commercial Services team specializes in floorplan lines of credits, real estate loans, acquisition loans, working capital loans, and treasury products to our 500+ franchised retail automobile dealer group relationships. We are searching for an experienced senior Commercial Credit Underwriter to manage an independent portfolio assigned to you. As a part of the team, you will be responsible for underwriting commercial loans to existing customers, collaborating with banking partners, and structuring transactions that are consistent with our company’s policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the credit process and possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize deal flow and meet delivery deadlines, while making decisions in the best interest of the customer and organization. Effective candidates will possess and apply a broad understanding of the business environment including the auto industry, current events, and economic cycles. With minimal guidance, you will be expected to approve and structure deals appropriately that are within your credit authority and provide guidance and recommendations on deals outside of your credit authority.

This role will be part of underwriting team based in India and will have following requirements:

Commercial Underwriting: Utilizing excellent commercial credit skills to prepare written credit reviews which assesses credit opportunities, identifies key risks with appropriate structures to mitigate risks including covenants, terms, and conditions for approval

Portfolio Management: Proactive ownership of portfolio management responsibilities including annual reviews, loan modifications, covenant breaches, inventory audits, overline management, and analyzing trends in key dealer metrics

Quality of Credit Decisions: Ensure consistent and highest quality underwriting packages that comply with regulations, policies and procedures

Credit Approval: Maintain integrity of credit transactions, effectively instigate credible challenges with the business, and ability to present and support recommendations to senior management

Build/Maintain Strong Partnerships: Interact with clients, virtually or in person, in conjunction with the Banker. Demonstrating excellent communication skills both internally and externally and using those communication skills to effectively solve problems.

Leadership: Mentoring and training team members in portfolio management activities.

Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications

CA / ICWA / MBA

13-15 years’ commercial banking / lending experience including extensive credit experience

Commercial banking / automotive captive experience, with thorough knowledge of accounting and financial statement analysis.

Superior analytical skills supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Hands-on experience underwriting commercial loans to franchised auto dealerships, or equivalent, including floor plan and real estate lending

Demonstrating, or actively developing, leadership skills in directly managing a team.

Additional Skills, Experience and Qualifications

The following additional items will be considered but are not required for this role

Prior experience in US Market and Auto industry is preferred

Exposure to US accounting standards
