Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

• Understand the business domain of Professional Services and drive feature evolution for digital transformation and automation.

• Develop relationships with key stakeholders at senior management level both in BU (business unit) and Biz Ops (business operation) and have clearly identified Roadmaps, future state strategies for professional services automation platform

• Demonstrate the ability to provide technicalleadership, and be able to navigate tricky decisions in a timely manner keeping the company values in mind

• Articulate the outcomes for all key initiatives, what value they are delivering along with how they tie back to the company’s priorities

• Establish yourself as a key go-to-person for anything in the back-office applications area for BUs and across cross functional teams (Architects, Engineers, Product Managers).

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Required Skills and Experience:

• You will partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and Solution Architects from multiple global teams to deliver the next generation capabilities for Professional Services Platforms

• Experience in defining roadmap for agile and scalable solutions for PSA (Professional Services Automation) tools using JIRA/Confluence tools.

• You have a good understanding of Product Development Cycle and can comfortably work with agile development processes

• You have worked on prioritizing incoming requests, balancing client requests & ongoing development efforts and managing stakeholder expectations

• You are passionate about sharing your knowledge and experiences with a collaborative, balanced team

• You have strong business domain fundamentals and feel comfortable in building highly available, robust business models systems solutions.

• You feel comfortable unpacking the high-level business asks to detailed system level solves and document the same which are consumed by multiple cross functional stakeholders.

• You can evaluate and use multiple cross functional systems and bring in the cohesiveness to address business problem.

• You enjoy working with high performing teammates and geographically distributed team comprised of R&D, IT, and Operations

• You understand domain driven architecture.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience of successful software project implementations with at least 2+ years related to Professional Services

• Must possess strong technical background, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience in hands on design, prototyping, development, configurations, testing and other implementation activities

• Experience performing detailed gap analysis, and preparing as-is & to-be process documentation

• Experience preparing end-user documentation and conducting end-user training

• Experience leading distributed teams to design architecture and requirements for and oversee development of packaged and integrated solutions

• Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation and may require collaboration across multiple functional/technical teams

• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise professional manner, tailored to the appropriate audience; including both verbal and written communications.

• Independent self-motivated ability to learn on the job

Desired skills/experience/certification:

• Professional Services application specific experience 2+ yrs., eg Changepoint, Salesforce (Adobe, Apptus).

• Knowledge of payment and finance domain a plus

• Business Analysis experience in a high-tech (preferable software) company highly desirable.

• 4-year Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business management or related discipline. Advanced degree would be a plus

• Industry Business Analyst certification would be a plus

The hiring manager for this role is Monisha Sumani, Product Engineering Manager. Monisha has 14+ years of experience in developing software systems and packaged and custom products across domains . Monisha currently leads our Professional Services and Education Engineering team from Palo Alto, which consists of 7 engineers focusing on providing best experience to VMware colleagues and customers.

Where is this role located?

Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
