POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an International Benefits Associate to add to our Global Benefits team. This is a full-time, fully remote position based in Remote – APAC (India/ Philippines) and will be responsible for executing aspects of our global benefits initiatives at the tactical level. This role requires a high level of flexibility and attention to detail. The successful candidate is particularly ambitious with proven experience managing vendors, data, administration, and client relationships. This individual will support the scaling of our global benefits offerings by providing excellent customer service externally and acting as a business partner internally. There is a constant opportunity for competency development, as the successful candidate will learn the business model of Velocity Global and will work with all of Velocity Global’s worldwide team. This role calls for someone who is truly ‘high velocity’ where wearing multiple hats is key to success, and is well-suited for the particularly ambitious person who loves navigating challenges and is attracted to or experienced in working at a startup. The right candidate has a relentless zeal to contribute and should have a passion for all things international. The successful candidate will work closely with all sides of the organization and participate in related projects as needed. This position will report to the International Benefits Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer the global benefits program, including enrollments, terminations, eligibility, billing from vendors, invoicing to clients, process mapping, audits, plan transfers, plan comparisons, and policy renewals
Provide support to the operations and sales team, including joining calls with current clients and prospects, assisting with internal inquiries, and developing processes that minimize the time other departments spend on benefits-related tasks
Assist with clients’ and supported employees’ inquiries, including claims assistance, setting up guarantees of payment, and general coverage questions
Accurately maintain the company’s systems of record, including HRIS, NetSuite, Excel, Google Sheets, and external technology solutions
Maintain an internal database focused on pricing, compliance, frequently asked questions, marketing materials, plan documentation, and other information relating to our global benefits offerings
Manage daily relationships with benefits service providers, outsourced vendors, and brokers on a global basis to ensure compliance with processes, requirements, laws, and service expectations
Assist with global benefits projects and planning, including plan establishment and compliance reviews
Assist in the organization of transaction documents and benefit summaries, putting them into a standardized and clear format
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
1 – 3 years of experience in administering global benefits; US benefits experience and/or pension
experience a plus
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills and initiative through individual research and drive
Ability to work across different departments to achieve results beneficial to the larger team
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including strong execution, and timely and thorough follow-through and follow-up of tasks
Ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion, sound judgment, and diplomacy
Ability to manage multiple tasks, show adaptability and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy with strong attention to detail
Technology literate, including Microsoft Office Suite and benefits-specific software
Driven; a team player who brings his/her whole self to the role
