The Electrical Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development of components, small systems, quality systems, processes or materials.
This role in summary
PURPOSE: Responsible for sensor/switches technical designs.
Your responsibilities will include
Job title: Principal Engineer- Sensor & Switches
Experience – 10+ Years
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understanding of function concepts:
-Responsible for performing accurate and detailed sensor/switches specifications with the support of the engineering team and delivering solutions to stakeholders across all major appliance platforms.
-Prepare & keep updated design guidelines , Approve all sensor/switches specifications, FMEAs, and lessons learned documents.
-Identify new, unique and difficult sensor/switches requirements and put in place containment actions to mitigate.
-Identify and develop new improvement areas in collaboration with global stakeholders
-Cost Idea generation for relevant targets with sensor/switches / platform teams
-Prepare & release base DVPs & update in a timely manner.
-Tier-I sensor/switches roadmap preparation
-Conduct design reviews interfacing with leadership and cross functional for gaining alignment at each build. Approve sensor/switch designs at each design phase.
-Drive sensor/switches reuse Plan and Integration.
-Responsible for driving sensor/switches through WPD process
– Leads attribute target setting.
– Lead systemic problem solving efforts input to close knowledge gaps in sensor/switches subsystems in the development of more robust system models and reusable engineering tools.
Minimum requirements
Application of Technical tools:
-Ability to implement opex methodology to drive continuous improvement in projects/ processes.
-Expertise in application of engineering tools to verify design of assembly/reliability/manufacturability/safety in consultation with SME’s or Senior lead engineer
-Active participation in MVT initiatives & execution as per plan.
Technical Mentoring and Coaching / Development:
– Develop technical expertise in his/ her sub-system/ module(s), through coaching, mentoring, development, and infusion of new technologies
– Identify & bridge technical knowledge gaps
– Be a change agent for systematic problem solving capabilities within in his/ her sub-system/ module(s)
Key Deliverables
Patents/ Research / External presentations :
-Rigor to publish/present papers in technical forums
– Support to University collaborations through projects/ teaching mentoring and liaison to other external organizations (as applicable)
– Key technical leadership through contribution to the development of the IP portfolio, patent attainment, and achievement of sustainable technology advantage
Knowledge Management :
Lead technical forum within team and amongst cross technology teams to share knowledge and best practices
Pro-active knowledge documentation and sharing within team and amongst cross technology teams
Capture knowledge in A3 & reuse.
TECHNICAL
1. Detailed understanding of pressure sensor technologies
