I, Hardik Verma, a fifth-year student, am writing to express my interest in a position as a Legal Intern at your prestigious firm. I am a Keen enthusiast of “cyber Law, Data Protection and Privacy & Information Security”.

Why do I want to work at Deloitte?

As an inquisitive person, I am constantly seeking a challenging internship to learn, grow, and hone my skills, which is why I was drawn to this exciting opportunity. As I am a keen researcher in “Data Protection and Privacy, Cyber law and Information security”, I would like to work in the same department, in this prestigious and widely known company.

I have internship experience of approximately 8 – 9 months in areas of Cyber laws, Data Protection, Corporate, Litigation, In-house, Arbitration and drafting in various fields of law including both Civil and Criminal.

I have interned in law firms, and companies, under an Arguing Counsel and Senior Advocate of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and Delhi High Court, having their offices in New Delhi and Gurgaon. I have gained significant and functional experience.

Along with that I hold a special inclination in the fields of Cyber Law, Data Protection, Cybercrime Law, and Intellectual Property Rights and have participated in several intra-college Moot Court Competitions in the last five years of college.

What are my competencies and how do I plan to use these skills in a manner that is unique to you at the workplace?

My competencies include a strong foundation in cyber law from the Asian School of Cyber Law, as well as practical experience gained through internships at technology law firms such as Techyloops, Khaitan and Co., and Obhans and Associates. With these skills, I have developed expertise in areas such as legal frameworks for technology, cybersecurity, data protection, intellectual property rights, and emerging technologies.

In Deloitte, I can leverage these competencies in several unique ways:

Legal Advisory: I can provide comprehensive legal advice to clients on various technology-related matters, including compliance with cyber laws, data privacy regulations, and intellectual property issues.
Contract Drafting and Review: My experience in drafting and reviewing contracts, such as technology agreements, software licenses, and service-level agreements, can be invaluable to technology firms.
Cybersecurity Compliance: With my knowledge of cybersecurity laws and regulations, I can assist clients in developing and implementing robust cybersecurity compliance programs. This includes conducting risk assessments, drafting cybersecurity policies, and advising on incident response procedures to mitigate legal risks associated with data breaches.
Emerging Technologies: Given the rapid advancements in technology, I can stay abreast of emerging trends such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
