Job Title: Manager/Senior Manager – Logistics

Job Purpose:

The Logistics Manager/Senior Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics operations for Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), focusing on import procedures, custom clearances, and transportation. The role will ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain process. Experience in the wind or renewable energy industry is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Import & Customs Clearance:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the import process, including handling custom clearances for WTGs and other related components.
• Ensure compliance with all government regulations and customs laws, including necessary documentation, duty payments, and related processes.
• Coordinate with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and brokers to ensure timely clearance and delivery of goods.

Wind Logistics Management:

• Plan and manage the logistics for Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) and related equipment, from port of entry to project site.
• Develop and optimize transportation plans for moving heavy and oversized equipment, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to project timelines.
• Manage logistics operations for both domestic and international shipments, ensuring safe and timely delivery.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and transportation partners.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and service level agreements are met.
• Collaborate with procurement, project management, and site teams to align logistics operations with project needs.

Project Coordination:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction, and procurement, to ensure seamless coordination between logistics and project timelines.
• Prepare and manage logistics budgets, track spending, and identify opportunities for cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
• Monitor logistics performance and ensure adherence to project schedules.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure all logistics operations comply with local, national, and international laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of import/export and customs clearance.
• Implement safety measures for transporting wind energy equipment, particularly for heavy and oversized cargo.
• Proactively identify risks in logistics processes and develop contingency plans to mitigate delays and disruptions.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain detailed records of shipments, customs documentation, delivery schedules, and other logistics-related data.
• Provide regular updates to senior management and project teams on the status of shipments, potential risks, and corrective actions.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong understanding of import/export regulations and customs clearance procedures.
• Experience managing logistics for Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) or heavy equipment, with a focus on transportation and handling.
• Proven track record in managing end-to-end logistics for renewable energy or wind projects.
• Ability to manage freight forwarding, transportation logistics, and vendor relationships.
• Expertise in contract negotiation and cost management with logistics providers.
• Strong project management and communication skills to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage complex, large-scale logistics operations within strict project timelines.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
• Experience: 8-12 years in logistics, particularly in the wind, renewable energy, or cargo industries.
• Familiarity with customs clearance, import/export processes, and WTG transportation.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in the wind energy sector or renewable energy logistics is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in handling heavy-lift and oversized cargo for wind turbine logistics.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in wind logistics.
