I completed my Master’s degree in Agricultural Entomology under the supervision of Dr. Amalendu Ghosh, Advanced Centre for Plant Virology, Division of Plant Pathology, New Delhi, India in 2021. My area of research interest is related to virus-vector interaction.
I worked on understanding the whitefly-Begomovirus interaction as a part of my master’s program. The title of my thesis is “changes in the transcriptome of Bemisia tabaci associated with begomovirus infection”.
While doing so, I gained a lot of valuable experience and new techniques. I used the Illumina Hi-Seq platform for the transcriptome data. I am familiar with the extraction of DNA, RNA, Synthesis of cDNA, and Primer designing. I am well acquainted with using PCR, RT-PCR, qRT-PCR. Out of my interest and support from my chairperson, I learned few more techniques like RNAi and the detection of begomovirus in Bemisia tabaci through dissection and hybridization.
I am proficient in using Microsoft Office. I am good at communicating and expressing myself both orally and in written form is my strength. Apart from my research interests, I am very passionate about teaching. I have little experience in teaching and explaining concepts to my juniors and classmates for competitive exams. I am looking for an opportunity where I can convert my passion into my profession. Today, I am asking for you to take a chance on me; it will turn out to be one of your best investment.
