We are looking for a Database Administrator to be part of the product engineering team. The candidate should have over 4 years of experience in technologies like Vertica Analytical database, Linux-based environments, shell scripting, AWS technologies

Roles & Responsibilities
Experience in handling/ maintaining/ administrating multi-terabyte enterprise level database infrastructure.
Manage MySQL database in production/QA/dev/performance/Labs/Pre-prod environments including the installation, configuration, backup, recovery, upgrades, schema changes, RDS slaves, Data centre slaves, Replications, RDS snapshotting, RDS encryption.
Build, maintain and monitor large scale Big Data analytics pipelines.
Hadoop / Cloudera installation, configuration, upgrading, backup/recovery (using distcp), capacity planning, performance tweaking.
Vertica Analytical database, installation, configuration, upgrading, backup/recovery (using vbr), capacity planning, performance tweaking and migrations from datacentres to communal storages and vice versa.
Debugging Hadoop jobs through application logs and other monitoring tools.
Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of Linux-based environments, shell scripting, job scheduling using crontabs (especially centos).Hands-on experience with MySQL databases within production and QA environments including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, upgrades, schema changes, replications.Hands on experience in Vertica Analytical database, installation, configuration, upgrading, backup/recovery, capacity planning, performance tweaking and migrations.Familiarity with CI/CD processes, exposure to pipeline deployments via Jenkins.Experience with and within Kubernetes and containers very helpful.Hands-on experience with AWS technologies.Experience in Hadoop / Cloudera installation, configuration, upgrading, backup/recovery, capacity planning, performance tweaking.
