Job Title : Product Cost Analyst – Train Control
Purpose of the Job
To realize an estimation achievable of the technical cost of the parts and assembly
To support the Engineering team in the Design to Cost way of working
To participate at the creation of the target cost in frame of tender and project
To support Sourcing team in the negotiation with the suppliers
Reports Directly to : Product Cost Manager/Engineer
Direct Reportees : Nil

You will be in charge to:
Use the adequate cost model to calculate the technical cost of the Product / Architecture
Detect the most important cost drivers of the Product
Purpose improvements of the design to reduce the technical and Industrial cost.
Promote the cost culture in the Engineering team
Provide the cost breakdown of the Product
Negotiation support for Sourcing Team
Responsibilities
Based on the Design of the Product and several assumptions (industrial, sourcing):
Develop costing tools for the costing network
Calculate the technical cost (Should Cost / Could Cost) of the Product by using the appropriated tool
Ensure that the Product is fully feasible
Check the industrial process
Ensure the consistency of the assumptions
Contribute to the improvement of the Costing metier
To be a referent on a process or a family of product
Generate and formalize Design To Cost Ideas
Formalize the saving opportunities
Support technical business cases
Way of working
Share the feedback coming from the supplier
Propose design rules to Metiers
Involvement in network (REX, practices, etc.)
Required Skills & Competencies
Rolling stock functional engineer experiences on its functions
Knowledge of development practices and rules as defined in the Train Control support plans (SyMDP, SyQP, SCMP, SyVP).
Knowledge in function formulating a Low voltage and SW control design solution that fulfils the specified customer
Knowledge in TC & IS Engineering outputs including Functional Design Description FDD with man machine interfaces, Electrical Schemes and Electrical Products definition (with the support of Electrical Lead Engineer), in compliance with the Engineering Quality Cost Delay commitments.
Knowledge in Interface Control Document (ICD) for sub system participating in its function
Experience in Project Benchmarking
Experience in Supplier interface test or TC&IS verification tests on PC or TCMS Test Bench
Good knowledge about train integration & valdation on control side.
Experience in electrical or electro-mechanical or automation (Programmable Logic Controller) engineering with minimum of 1-2 years’ experience.
Hands-on experience in design & development in developing in IEC61131-3 software or using model based development tools like Matlab / Simulink, Control Build etc
Knowledge of network topologies and interfaces for Serial, Ethernet, MVB and other industrial communication network.
Industrial Process knowledge (segmentation of the industrial processes, pros and cons per processes, method time awareness)
Knowledge of quality gates (V-Cycle)
Knowledge of EMC, Maintainability/Safety…
Costing knowledge (Should Cost / Could Cost)

Minimum 5-9 years of experience in Product Cost Analysis (Automotive, Railway or Infra-structure Industries in Control Domain)
Educational Qualifications
