GENERAL SCOPE & SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of computerized databases, software environments, and all tiers of the applications environments (above OS). Create, maintain, and execute documentation, recovery and sizing requirements, operational guidelines and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of DBMS transactions and various support tools, such as base dictionaries, environment/architecture integrations. Establishes and enforces DB-Level security and integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management and application-level maintenance. Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system within the context of vender and corporate recommendations. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions. Responsible for supporting databases in various environments. Designs and implements database security policies and procedures, ensures accuracy and availability of data and conducts performance tuning on databases, related services, and servers.

PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to interpret impacts of business requirements to multiple development environments and different vendor and technical platforms and to interact and coordinate with all project development teams. Primary resources to design, evaluate, and debug database and software environments at all levels of an enterprise platform to affect required changes. Plans, executes, and evaluates integration and acceptance testing, and production implementations Review/Design DB-level code to support monitoring and performance management. Contribute to standards and goals for monitoring and performance metrics. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Advises and Creates logic procedures, flowcharts, coding and tests/debugs of logic based on defined specifications and contextual to database and environment impacts. Develops database and environment contributions to systems solutions/applications to automate business processes and improve work efficiency. Revises and updates existing procedures and provides required documentation Routinely interacts with vendor second level support. Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards. Perform code reviews.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between database and technology stacks and the business functionality supported.
• Demonstrated knowledge of database procedures and toolsets, vendor installation and patching models to maintain existing environments, cross platform interactions

· Actively incorporating proactive fault resolution and performance improvements into the environment · Demonstrated capability to act as a central touch point between vendor support resources and corporate resources

• Ability to communicate and absorb complex information and concepts with both functional business and technical teams.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills while affecting change independently, insuring cohesion of entire solution. Professional demeanor to create, maintain and enhance inter-departmental relationships. Serve as database and environment specialist to multiple Project Teams across organizations.
• Independently Handles complex aspects of position, such as: o Monitoring and interpreting environment behavior and usage for proactive maintenance and performance improvements o Evaluating database and environment for optimal functional behavior and proactive improvements to process/functionality. o Insuring audit protections and requirements exist across environments.

· Proactively examining environment and database architectures for fault avoidance opportunities · Demonstrated competency in Corporate Data Governance, Enterprise Applications architectures, Enterprise database architectures, Software environment monitoring/alerting toolsets data repository development toolsets, and data query and analysis tools, core database and environment maintenance procedures

• Ability to use professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways. Deliver assignments without considerable direction and within the constructs of Corporate Goals.
• Ability to develop resolutions to complex problems where analyses of situations or data require an in-depth evaluation of various factors and the frequent use of creativity. Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
