Job summary

• Retail Business Services (RBS) supports Amazon’s Retail business growth WW through three core tasks. These are (a) Selection, where RBS sources, creates and enrich ASINs to drive GMS growth; (b) Defect Elimination: where RBS resolves inbound supply chain defects and develops root cause fixes to improve free cash flow and (c) supports operational process for WW Retail teams where there is an air gap in the tech stack. The tech team in RBS develops automation that leverages Machine/Deep Learning to scale execution of these high complex tasks that currently require human cognitive skills.
• With CVOID-19 situation, the 100% operations team is WFH and we anticipate in near future it will be difficult for 100% of workforce to come to office. Majority of the workforce will continue to WFH. Also, we are developing a program where certain %age of workforce can continue to WFH for extended period of time. Our WFH program will allow us to hire some of the diversity candidates that otherwise has challenge to join the office full time.
• Given our focus on developing virtual work environment, we are looking for technologies that can support us. Most of the tools and technologies are already available in various forms within Amazon. We are looking to integrate those and create a solution that will support the vision. Also on regular basis, support the business by maintaing the platform and improve CX.

Key job responsibilities

• * BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• * 5+ years of* development or technical support experience.
• * Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• * Knowledge of one high level programming language (preferably C++ or Java)
• * Ability to solve complex problems independently.
• * Understanding of the complete deployment life cycle from design, build, test, deploy

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience scripting in modern program languages
• 4+ years of development or technical support experience
• Experience in Unix
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• * Strong debugging/troubleshooting of Java based applications
• * Strong understanding of support processes – SLA, handling tickets, monitoring, processes and metrics.
• * Hands on experience in Cloud technology is plus.
• * Hands on experience distributed applications/enterprise applications is plus.
