Amazon is a global organization at the forefront of the digital economy and offers a great opportunity for a dynamic and experienced indirect tax individual to manage the Amazon’s India GST compliance function.

The Senior Manager will oversee the indirect tax compliance, audit and provisioning functions for some key Amazon India group entities . The senior manager will work with internal and external business partners, identify and implement process improvement opportunities and drive positive change across the organization.

Key job responsibilities

• Leading a team of executives and external consultants to manage day to day GST compliance reporting for some key Amazon group entities

• Working closely with cross functional teams and designing or improving tax compliant processes

• Owning the process and work related to indirect tax audit and designing framework for assessment readiness

• Interfacing with tax authorities as may be required for managing audits/ investigations

• Setting up of data warehouse and Information Management framework

• Reviewing tax accounting, provisioning and leading interactions with internal and statutory auditors

• Publishing trackers and dashboards on key tax risks and exceptions and working on the FAS-5 process to assist with identifying potential issues that may lead to litigation and evaluating existing issues to identify the need for provision/ reserves

• Working with internal stakeholders to gather required information for effective management of audit and litigation process

Basic Qualifications

• Experience liaising with tax authorities including responding to audits and information requests

• 13+ years of tax experience with a significant amount of time providing technical guidance experience

• Experience within a multinational business and either legal or accountancy firm experience

• Experience working with tax compliance software such as GTCE, Vertex, ONESOURCE, etc.

• Should be a Chartered Accountant

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with internet and cloud taxation
