Engineer III – Automation for Storage domain

This role is reports to Director – Storage operations responsible to deliver new automation capabilities to drive efficiency & customer experience while consuming various Storage infrastructure services. The Storage team manages the delivery lifecycle of infrastructure builds, configuration, capacity planning, monitoring, and provisioning services to fulfil data capacity demands of enterprise application teams. The automation is extensively used for delivering daily operations, embedding self-service, self-healing and programmatic interfaces, including deployment, upgrades, administration of Storage infrastructure, compliance, availability, and cost-effective data storage solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build & deploy software & APIs driven capabilities for driving automation led Storage infrastructure services, such as provisioning, monitoring, build/configure, self-service, self-healing, and backup solutions.

• Drive the framework, development & delivery of automation products, to deliver efficiency in routine tasks like provisioning, catalogue, slack-based self-service capabilities, monitoring, web APIs, as well as new capabilities enhancing customer experience, productivity, compliance, and overall availability of Storage systems.

• Manage complete SDLC phases of automation deployment, and drive CI/CD pipeline for software release. Use Agile methodology for faster & efficient code development.

• Ensure bug-free & best practices-based software solutions that are built using standard reference architecture, robust & resilient product designs, code development, testing & release management in Production.

• Execute Service delivery for projects to improve availability, reduce costs and enhance customer experience. Knowledge of ITIL based Storage Infrastructure support processes, including incident, problem, and change management is required.

Qualifications:

• Around 3 – 5 years of proven experience of Infrastructure Automation, Storage products domain, Rest APIs, and Software development for delivering. Knowledge of infrastructure Rest APIs framework, and scripting with Python, FLASK, Django is a must, along with experience of CI/CD pipeline & AGILE tools / methodology.

• Full stack software development is a requirement that includes front-end software tools, including React/Node JS, Ansible, and good experience working with RDBMS – SQL

• Server, MySQL, PostGres DB.

• Additional weightage will be given for knowledge of PowerShell, and tools such as – .NET, IIS, HTML/PHP & BASH scripting.

• Preference given to candidates with good knowledge and understanding of Storage Technology landscape of industry products, in context of Dis-aggregated Storage & Software-defined Storage, Scale-out SAN / NAS / Object and Backup products.

• Deeper understanding on Compute/Network technologies will be a benefit.

• Strong working experience on Incident/Problem management processes

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
