The General Counsel’s Organization (GCO) & Centralized Supervisory Unit (CSU) team in India, includes the legal, compliance, Supervision functions that support Ameriprise Financial and its subsidiaries. This team work on different aspects of client services.
We are seeking to identify a qualified candidate for a position in GCO for the Advice & Wealth Management legal team, intended to work with Client Account Maintenance (CAM) team and attorneys in the US on Titular Documents Review & Fiduciary Responsibilities. The person is to ensure that client and company interests are safeguarded and are not exposed to higher risk along with any other functions assigned as part of the requirements to meet the larger goal.
Responsibilities
To accomplish this, the person is responsible for the following along with any other functions assigned as part of the requirements to meet the larger goal mentioned above:
Legal review of power of attorneys submitted by various clients of Ameriprise; communication of the findings to specific team.
Legal review of life events and resolve CAM queries.
Legal research and summarization of various rules and regulations or other relevant documents.
Any other similar to-dos as part of the larger team.
Required Qualifications
Law Graduate preferably from a tier 1 institute with experience in review of legal memos/ documents/ agreements or other legal review/ analysis functions
Must demonstrate excellent understanding of legal language and analytical skills.
Excellent English language skills – both written & spoken. Candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills as the role involves regular communication with counterparts within and outside the US GCO.
Ability to multi-task, strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and follow-up skills are essential for this position
Moderate to high-level experience in Microsoft Office products (specifically Word and Excel)
