Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Database Administration on Production Servers with server configuration, performance tuning and maintenance with outstanding troubleshooting capabilities.
Involve in meeting and co-ordination with vendors as per business requirements related to database and application needs.
Administering SQL Server High Availability, Disaster Recovery planning & Security Management operations.
Implemented SQL Server 2012 mechanisms like data compression, online indexing, Contained Databases, security principals.
Experience in using DMV and dynamic management functions for finding out long running queries.
Proficiency and expertise in SQL Server Replication, Backup/Recovery, Disaster recovery and planning.
Having hands on experience in DR processes including Log shipping and Database Mirroring.
Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and optimizing the queries, tracing long running queries and deadlocks.
Deployment of application and its new patches in UAT, Testing patches in UAT and after successful testing deploying same in production.
Troubleshoot performance problems, fine-tuning of databases and index Analysis.
Worked on SQL Server 2014 /2012 migration from SQL Server 2005/2008/2008 R2.
Worked on SQL server patches and upgradation.
SQL issues by using SQL Tools, Execution plans, Trace, Statistics, index tuning wizard.
Resolving space management issues like Database and Log file space issues.
Administering SQL Server by creating user logins with appropriate roles, monitoring the user accounts, creation of groups, granting the privileges to users and groups.
Data center servers and handle 2 TB databases.
configurations for SQL Server 2014 and SQL Server 2012 on Windows 2012.
Batch processes, Import, Export, Backup, Database Monitoring tools and Application support.
configuration knowledge in Clustering and configuration of Nodes.
configuration knowledge in Always-On Availability Groups (AAG) and HA/DR Troubleshooting
Experience in mentoring team members and writing documentation.
Create jobs and schedules them with notification & DB Mail alerts for Failure of Jobs.
Implement disaster recovery for SQL Server Production Database as Fail-Over or Standby servers. Used Log Shipping & database mirroring technique for MS SQL Server databases.
Take/Scheduling daily full backup of database from server to tape by using tool.
Set a Backup plan & Recovery on database, Prepare Maintenance schedule of backup, monitoring database, space management.
