The Carrier Services team is the server engineering team focused on integrating Apple Retail Stores and Online with the wireless carriers for seamless iPhone provisioning and activation. Utilizing the latest technologies including gRPC, Spring Reactor, Cassandra and Kafka, we aim to provide a highly-scalable platform for our clients, and Apple-class customer experience. Key Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a professional development environment
• 5+ years of java application development experience
• A strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms is required
• Strong skills on Java/JEE languages and Java Open Source projects
• Hands-on experience in developing RESTful web-services using XML, JSON
• Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra Database Development Experience
• HTTP(S), TCP/IP protocols, Bluetooth, REST, SOAP, Micro services and Cloud architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of Caching Implementations
• Ability to develop new and innovative applications as well as maintaining existing code.
• Demonstrated experience architecting, developing and deploying high-volume, multi-tiered, distributed mission critical applications is required.
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills are required.
• Strong knowledge of concurrency, scalability and fault tolerant designs
• Relational database experience and demonstrated abilities in SQL and data modeling is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.
• A desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
• Deep understanding of object oriented and micro-services design concepts
• Working knowledge of continuous delivery using tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker
• Strong conceptual knowledge on Software development life cycle and processes
• Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS) is a plus
• Experience with developing cloud native applications is a plus

As a Sr Server Software Engineer on our team, you will help build a next-generation point-of-sale platform that will push the boundaries in new markets for Apple Retail. This is a hands-on role in the development of software systems to support existing and new product features. This is a great opportunity for an experienced and results-oriented person who enjoys working with cross-functional teams. You will make critical architectural decisions affecting application design. You will recommend and deploy tools and processes to enable rapid application design, development, testing and deployment. Education & Experience
B.S/M.S in Computer Science or equivalent
