Business Development Executive Job Description
Business Development
✓ Identifying opportunities for partnership through scanning, networking, advocacy and policy work.
✓ Drawing on insight from the Online Centres Network to inform business development.
✓ Building relationships with potential funding partners and working with them to lead the design project proposals and budgets, drawing on expertise from across the organisation as required.
✓ Leading negotiations with partners to agree project scope and budget including contractual / grant agreement specifications.
✓ Working with the Strategy and Business Development Board, sharing relevant information and seeking feedback from theBoard at appropriate times to ensure all business development activity aligns with our Strategy.
✓ Keeping informed of key developments in the funding environment in which APCRC operates, and policy, insight and developments in specific thematic areas.
✓ Keeping informed of internal insights from the Evidence andImpact and Community Engagement and Experience teams.
✓ Contributing to bid teams, shaping bid concepts and costings.✓ Leading and supporting applications for charity partnerships and associated relationship building.✓ Leading fundraising activity with organisations and/or through individual giving, working with the Communications and ExternalAffairs Team and others as required
Partnerships
✓ Building and maintaining relationships with key personnel at the partner organisation.
✓ Understanding the partner’s priorities and expectations and representing these in APCRC’s processes and decisions.
✓ Leading activities that support relationship management with each partner eg. meetings, correspondence, speaking, social media.
✓ Regularly reviewing partnership status, risks, issues, with theHeads of Partnerships and Fundraising.
✓ Provide information as required for the Portfolio Board and other operational processes to support effective portfolio management

Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
– Post Graduate-level Degree in Development / Business Administration /Social Work
– At least three years of experience in development sector
– Minimum 2 years fundraising and partnership experience with international funders and corporate funders desirable.
– Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing fundraising and partnerships strategies covering corporate, government, multi-lateral and NGO revenue streams.
– Successful track record of personally identifying, cultivating and securing relationships with institutional and corporate donors.
– Demonstrated ability to gain respect and support from various constituencies including staff, national board, donors and partner organisations.
– Demonstrated ability to do both high level strategic and hands-on fundraising and partnerships work.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Desirable:
– Development and management experience with NGOs
– Good Computer skills to develop communication materials
– Experience in Advocacy
– Experience in training delivery and provision of in-house capacity building support
– Knowledge of relevant Indian and international strategies and frameworks in the areas of environmental protection, pollution prevention ecosystem restoration, biodiversity issues.

Successful candidate will enjoy working in a multi-cultural environment as part of a growing and developing organisation, and be personally committed to APCRC mission and values.The Fundraising and Partnerships Manager will directly supervise and support any other staff recruited for Fundraising, Partnerships and Advocacy responsibilities.
