The Role
Main responsibilities/What you will do.

• Lead SQA team to drive proactive approach towards supplier quality.
• Support NPDs.
• Review engineering and manufacturing specifications to identify materials needed for product assembly for all manufactured goods
• Research and find the optimum vendors to supply materials needed for manufacturing process
• Contact vendors and liaise between Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing and Buyers and vendors.
• Conduct supplier quality control audits on a regular basis to ensure vendors and their supplies remain in compliance with company and federal manufacturing and production standards
• Communicate with vendors regularly to address any concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement in working relationships
• Understand and interpret all manufacturing audits, including ISO 9001 and other industry standards
• Maintain a supplier database and include performance evaluations and quality control audits in the database for in-house access by company and manufacturing management personnel
• Assist with logistics, including communications with vendors when there are packaging and receiving issues when materials arrive at receiving dock.
• Push suppliers to achieve defined PPM and delivery levels.
• Evaluate the capabilities of proposed new suppliers in conjunction with key business stakeholders in the internal Supply Chain (local, regional, global) with the responsibility for approving or rejecting for use.
• Undertake supplier visits, compiling visit reports upon completion, PPAP, documentation and developing process improvements to the internal supply chain, including better utilization of supplier systems.
• Regularly benchmark the existing supply base and challenge the competitivenes of exsiting suppliers.
• Anticipate potential risks to the supply chain based on capacity, change in business profile, regulations, etc.
• Work with suppliers to improve their existing systems in activities such as implementation of “Poka Yoke”, automation, lean manufacturing, etc.

What we expect of you?
Experience / Educational requirements

• B.E./B.Tech background (Mechanical, Production) is preferred not necessary.
• >15 years’ experience in Supplier development and supplier quality assurance or related fields.
• Background in automotive sector is preferred though not mandatory.
• Able to read a technical drawing with tolerances & specifications, with experience in Fabrication commodity.
• Experience in castings (Al, CI, etc.), fabrication, forging, etc. is preferred.
• Knowledge in supply chain processes and manufacturing is a plus.
• Use of IT tools like ERP (BPCS), MS-Excel.
• Fluency in English is a must.
• Knowledge of Co-Engineering and Modularity is preferred
