Position: Counsellor- (Victim Assistance)

Project Location: koottu counselling center, Trivandrum, Kerala.

Candidates with post-graduation in social work or psychology with three years of work experience in child protection are preferred. Requires good Communication and listening skills, interpersonal skills, Self-motivated, awareness of diversity, child friendly, female candidates from Trivandrum shall be given priority. Salary shall be based on experience with a maximum up to 30,000/-

About the program

Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) is a pioneering grassroots movement against trafficking, forced labour, sexual abuse and other forms of exploitation of children in India founded in the year 1980 by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi . BBA envisions the creation of a child friendly society through active participation of children and collaborative engagement with the government and civil society. We envision a world free of violence and abuse against children where children are free, safe, healthy and educated.

Kerala Police, the Counter Child Sexual Exploitation Centre (CCSE) Centre has been collaborating with Bachpan Bachao Andolan also called (Association for Voluntary Action ) has initiated the project campaign and counselling center called “KOOTTU. This Program campaign aims to educate school-going children below the age of 18, parents and teachers about the emerging threats in the online world. The counselling center to support the CSA survivors of cybercrimes who do not receive the legal, moral, or mental support they need.

Major Duties includes

1. Provide victim assistance and provide required psychosocial help.

2. Require to plan House, school, police station, court, and institution visits on a regular basis.

3. Develop Individual care plan (ICP) by using psycho social assessment tools and ensure timely support.

4. Comprehensive Rehabilitation and reintegration plan execution (ICP)

5. Ensure link with services, schemes and compensation and other the available resources

6. Make sure the continuing education, trainings and skill development and Parental enhancement (in the families)

7. Ensure support required from time to time for Legal assistance and ensure fair trial

8. Take care of the set child friendly procedures and steps being followed and support the survivors of CSA at all levels.

9. Developing and maintaining the linkages with departments and institutions. (Ie regularly with ADNO, CCSE, Cyber wing, CWC, DLSA, DCPU and other institutions and departments).

10. Plan, organize awareness sessions in schools and institutions.

11. Develop, update the IEC material and modules on cyber safety resource materials for various stakeholders

12. Plan and coordinate programs for capacity development of stakeholders at all levels.

13. Documentation- Timely collection of documents, compiling, Data entry and attention to detail including: case documentation, using both paper-based and computer automated case management systems; maintaining statistical records on victims served and services provided and ensuring confidentiality at all levels.

14. Victim related community outreach activities,

15. Integrate technological solutions in all phases of the project for smoothen, effective and speedy intervention.

16. Periodical study and research on koottu and related topics.

17. Performs other assignments, duties as assigned time to time.
