The BCN plays a critical role in supporting Bain’s case teams globally to help with analytics and research across all industries, for corporate cases, client development, private equity diligence or Bain intellectual property.
The Pricing Center of Expertise (COE) sits within the BCN and supports Bain’s pricing work globally. Pricing CoE helps Bain clients in identifying and capturing value by helping co-develop and deliver Pricing products across the value chain – diagnostics, solutions and implementation.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Pricing Associates play a key team member role on BCN Pricing cases/ IP, at times leading simple cases/work-streams independently and at times driving the analysis on more complicated cases with significant direction from a Project Leader/Manager.
Associates may manage 1-3 Analysts and take responsibility for sharing appropriate information across work streams. Associates provide feedback and coach Analysts on task execution and role. The expectation is to eventually provide significant direction and support to resolve complex issues and effectively manage client and team meetings.
Pricing Associates work with case teams across geographies and industries; however, they focus almost exclusively on pricing related projects (related to client cases/ IP/ tools).
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Proficient professional with sound business logic and ability to structure approaches to answer complex business questions
• Able to quickly come up to speed on different pricing products and perform analysis across geographies and industries
• Proficient in research and analysis and also able to provide solid business judgment to derive answers in situations where data is not easily available/ explicitly published
• Ensure timely, high quality, error-free research, analysis and output produced (by self and by analysts)
• Understand client needs and situations and adapt to case expectations. Show ability to resolve discrete issues and/or drive consensus
• Brainstorming with the Project Leader/Manager on various aspects of case work which ranges across multiple workstreams of data operations and product development etc.
• Able to interface with primary client contact/ Bain case teams from any global office/ BCN onshore managers, basis case requirement
• Drive conversation through analytics, including, but not limited to -building dashboards, driving insights through data analysis, story-lining own work-stream to prove/disprove hypotheses
• Communicate data, knowledge and insights to the entire team. Generate and screen realistic solutions based on sound reality checks and recommend actionable solutions
• May have first level team management responsibility which involves allocating and reviewing work to a small team of analysts and conducting performance discussions, writing reviews for appraisal
• May manage simple cases consistently and independently
• Consistently seek and provide meaningful and actionable feedback in all interactions; recognize different skills and development needs in oneself and work towards it
QUALIFICATION:
Candidate should be a Post Graduate (MBA) from top-tier College with upto 2 years of experience (pre-or post MBA) in market research, data analytics or consulting or an operations role with pricing / marketing analytics exposure.
Candidates should possess excellent analytical, communication, problem solving and team player skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Should possess strong in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Prior experience with data analytics, proficiency in Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI will be preferred.
