Tata Steel Looking For Area Manager- Power House (Operations) at Odapada, Odisha, Full Time

Responsible for the safe operation of 110 MW power plant equipment’s, such as waste Heat Recovery Boilers, Steam Turbines, cooling towers, Ash handling plants etc.

Achievement of continuous reliability and availability of plant by properly coordinating with the mechanical, electrical, and civil department to complete day-to-day jobs, including defects, preventive & preventive maintenance, shut down etc.

Achievement of desired operational parameters and efficiency of the Power plant through efficient operation of Boilers, Turbine, Balance of Plant, and ash handling System in close coordination and monitoring with shift/Desk Engineers.

Ensuring & maintaining Safety and environment KPI fixed by the organisation in line with ABP & government statutory norms.

Implementation of Kaizen related to energy saving, plant upgradation & sustainability.

Safety – Implement necessary actions to ensure Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) excellence initiatives across all respective Areas. Ensure safety requirements like SOPs, Positive isolation, and adherence to standards are in place and being practiced. investigate incidences and comply with action points.

ABP – Support in making ABP for safety, environment & operation and ensure for their compliance and corrective actions.

Safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the power plant to ensure uninterrupted supply of power and steam to internal customers

Ensuring reliability and availability of Waste Heat Recovery Boilers & associated turbines for DRI Production.

Contractor Safety Management of Vendors’ employees by ensuring proper safety training, availability of PPE and infrastructure for maintaining hygiene in the dept

People Development – (i) Mentoring new entrants, supervisory staff, and contractor employees, conducting mass communication periodically. (ii) Identification of training needs, preparing training plans, and imparting training modules

Skills

Having sound experience in the operation of power plant equipment such as WHRB, AFBC, and CFBC Boilers with condensing cum extraction kind of steam turbines

Experience with boilers (WHRB, AFBC, CFBC & GFB) and steam Turbines having a power Plant capacity of more than 50 MW

Degree BE/BTECH in Mech/ Production/ Industrial/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation/Power Plant/Power Engineering/ Chemical Engineer. BOE certification will be preferred
