Introduction: This role will support the Mortgages and Lending CIO in delivering the strategic change portfolio for the Mortgages business. Under moderate supervision, the role-holder would be supporting test automation across the Mortgages, Lending and Collections business areas. Prepare test estimates, Prepare Test data, Test Strategy, Test scripts and Execute test scripts. Articulates the tests executed, data used, the results and defects to project stakeholders. The successful candidate will work with a peer group of Technology Leads across Build and Test and establish strong relationships across all Technology teams, Delivery partners, Business areas and Suppliers. Projects are required to be delivered to Barclays standards, processes and strategies. What will you be doing?

• Identification and qualification of opportunities to improve testing activities through the application of tools
• Analysis, design and implementation of test automation solutions, structured handover of automation products to test teams and subsequent support for query resolution and maintenance
• Automating tests using Cucumber/Selenium/SeeTest/other tools. Adopt the best practice process for developing automated test programs
• Automating the application deployments, functional test scripts and regression test scripts.
• Preparation: Providing Test estimates & deriving end to end scenarios – cases – test data. Working closely with Build & Design team.
• Responsible for implementing new enhancements in the existing Automation code, maintenance of existing automation framework and functions, development of new framework if required.
• Reporting – Generated execution reports – matrices with evidences
• Defect – Reporting and tracking
• Mentoring peers/team members on the test techniques and ideas in line with system under test
• Facilitate re-use of test artefacts for the project or come up with relevant new artefacts to suit the need
• Helping in Identify project risk and dependencies and act accordingly
• Be responsible for their own professional development needs and support the development needs of the team

What we’re looking for:

• Strong understanding and experience of test automation frameworks e.g. Cucumber/Selenium, and experience of using BDD/TDD techniques
• Proven experience working within a complex integration test project that involved establishing end to end work flows.
• Good exposure to latest advancements in Testing – perform technical deep-dives into test scenarios, automation framework, Roll-up the sleeves attitude, bringing innovative solutions to the table
• Demonstrable experience in a Test Manager role with strong evidence of both business and technology change delivery and experience of working in an agile project team
• Strong evidence of stakeholder management at all levels

Skills that will help you in the role

• SDLC and STLC, as well as various Test Phases. Conceptual and applied knowledge of functional testing techniques and approaches
• Experience in developing and maintaining new test automation frameworks within large organisations
• Experience in integrating automation tests with continuous delivery tools and Application development, configuration management, packaging and deployment
• Agile and DevOps processes and toolsets. Also Effectively managing risks, issues and dependencies; status reporting and escalation. (Preferred) Understanding of Retail Banking especially the Mortgage business
