Are you the person we are looking for?

You will be a technically focused, engineering director with proven capability of leading diverse teams. Using your extensive knowledge of embedded system and deep system knowledge, you will partner with product managers, architecture teams and customers to discover and implement solutions across multiple industries including our high-profile automotive Tier 1 accounts. We need you to take the magic of the QNX software and Hypervisor experience to the customers/users in a way that meets their unique needs.

In this role, your team will focus on building foundation and innovation at the edge in reducing developing friction by enabling QNX in the multi-cloud and building new tools, integrations, and languages support; BSP and driver development by working with vendors; and building the automated test development suite in collaboration with the global and advanced OEM engineering teams. You will work on making the integrator ecosystem successful and making customer, tier 1 partners and developer experience streamlined with continued leadership in all aspects of safety certified QNX software portfolio. You will:

• Recruit and build the Product Engineering team unit in Hyderabad to drive and deliver the efficient and effective solutions for sophisticated customer problems and large-scale technical projects. Scale teams based on key market and customer insights.
• Nurture, mentor and develop team members.
• Set unit objectives, priorities, define workflows and processes by defining the mission of the team and building expertise in developing, implementing quality and timely products and/or programs to support client requirements.
• Be responsible for financial planning and budget ownership of product engineering unit
• Define a long-term talent strategy across technologies
• Be accountable for the technical vision and roadmap within the scope of your unit. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
• Create a culture of high-speed, high-quality delivery by assembling an elite engineering team, leading it, and designing scalable, sustainable components
• Drive creativity and continual development by empowering the team to enhance their tools, procedures, and culture to keep them agile and inventive
• Collaborate closely with various multi-functional teams by balancing engineering resources according to business needs & customer impacts
• Solve the technical challenges involved in addressing embedded development and device constraints
• Partner with Product managers, principal/distinguished engineers, engineering managers, partners, silicon vendors, board vendors etc. to craft out product roadmaps
• Participate in training and workshops related to usage of QNX products in safety critical systems, or to functional safety in general

Skills & experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Engineering related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Accomplished experience in engineering, providing product engineering leadership, driving strategy and roadmaps, leading end-to-end product development
• Proven ability to drive innovation and deep hands-on understanding of embedded operating systems (QNX, Linux, GreenHills, VXworks)
• Significiant experience in Unix internals and embedded development experience using C and assembling language
• Experience targeting embedded systems on major processor architectures (ARM, x86, PPC, etc.)
• Experience in SAAS/PAAS architecture and implementation with the major cloud vendors (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Experience in Cloud computing, CI/CD, CX services with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java)
• Experience in continuous integration, unit and functional testing practices, and continuous deployment systems
• Experience working with geographically distributed multi-functional collaborators creating strong inter-organizational relationships

Additional skills that would be advantageous to bring with you:

• Experience in operating and facilitating collaboration in a cross-functional/site environment (global software engineering teams)
• Proven knowledge of software safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508 or IEC 62304
• Knowledge of software development processes, standards or guidelines (ASPICE, MISRA) as well as scripting and document generation tools (Python, Latex)
