BorgWarner Inc. Hiring for Head – Quality at Chennai, India Full Time

This position will oversee plant quality function deliverables and ensure all the quality plant metrics are met.

Roles & Responsibilities

Supplier Quality (SQA) & New Product Development:

• Direct and support to ensure continuously improved supplier quality performance in terms of zero defects, first time right approach and enhanced plant efficiency.

• Continuously improve supplier quality appraisal efficiency and effectiveness – Improve skip lot /Ship to use /Direct online parts %. Improve receiving inspection time to ensure improved inspector & gauge equipment utilization and faster GRN clearance

• Ensure and support Supplier audits, Supplier recognitions, Supplier trainings, Suppliers top management meetings

In-Process Quality:

• Drive actions, support and ensure shop operations quality performance (Scrap cost & Rework cost) meeting and exceeding plant expectations.

• Ensure and support QMS compliance in shop floor.

• Ensure and support motivational programs in order to encourage shop ops team to comply standard processes (SOPs, Control Plan, Inspection sheets, setup procedures) to produce quality parts. Also ensure Continuous improvement for enhance quality performance YOY.

Customer Complaint Handling:

• Ensure and support all customers complaints are attended on time and immediately acted upon without escalations further by customers.

• Ensure and support team for conducting right problem-solving process (8D) to identify the root causes and effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented in stipulated time agreed with customers

• Ensure and support team to improve continuously the customer quality performance – Drive proactive approach to review P/DFMEAS at defined frequency and strong alignment with Control plans, process flow diagrams and SOPs

Quality Management System (QMS):

• Take the role of MR. Responsible for MRM Activity.

• Responsible for Internal Audit Activity.

• Follow & lead ISO/TS /IATF16949-2016, ISO 14001 & OSHAS Guidelines.

• Drive and Ensure 8D process focus while solving Customer, Supplier and Inhouse quality issues

Advance quality:

• Participate in collection of initial customer feedback on new products and address early concerns.

• Evaluate predicate products for relevant quality issues that may impact new product development projects.

• Develop, review, and approve inspection plans, routers, and product drawings for new products.

• Lead investigation and health risk assessment – SOP +90 days

• Analyze and define critical quality attributes for product and process through risk analysis techniques.

• Engage in the design, development, manufacturing, and risk management activities for new product development projects.

• Support product design transfers to internal and/or external manufacturing facilities.

• Support quality system maintenance for the design control process by identifying and correcting deficiencies in procedures and practices.

• Develop quality assurance documentation to support new product development process and regulatory submissions.
