Job Description

RB CoC SW V&V is one of the Robert Bosch Wide Center of Competency for SW Verification and Validation. This CoC caters across BBM and Non-BBM divisions

Role Description

the Element Owner maintains a Bosch-wide expert network for the technical topic defined by the element of the House of V&V

the Element Owner acts as a main contact for questions regarding his element, and also supports any means of knowledge exchange on the topic

the Element Owner gets involved by the RB-CoC SW V&V whenever technical positions or relevant decisions on his element are happening, and aligns central decisions across his expert network

Element Owners can recommend the creation of further activities such as working packages or solution enablers of the RB-CoC SW V&V

Element Owners learn about new good practices and developments of state-of-art and state-of-science within the domain of the element, and pass them on to experts of the element’s network

Accountability

the Element Owner bears the ownership of the technical vision of the element, that guides the organization towards state-of-the-art and state-of-science for the affected technical domain

he/she breaks down and aligns the technical vision into individual topics and activities and aligns them with his/her expert network

he/she is accountable that there is a regular cross-divisional exchange happening where the expert network aligns

Decision-making Authority

defining and aligning the technical vision & element policy

scoping, setting priorities, ensuring alignment to value

Right of recommendation for decision to:
technical solution, technical processes (e.g. technical positions of the RB-CoC SW V&V)

make or buy decisions

signing-off completed work packages

facilitates the knowledge transfer across Bosch on his Element (e.g. by inviting for regular exchange, setting up a knowledge base)

tracks good practices at Bosch

supports other experts and stakeholders in identifying gaps towards state-of-the-art and shares good practices

suggests creation of work packages, solution enablers or other activities within and outside of RB CoC SW V&V

Actively contribute on the CoE V&V topics in BGSW

Description

V&V always had a strong linking to tools and is often directly associated with processes, methods and tools (PMT) clusters. The border between development and test tools is fuzzy however, and specific V&V tools are covered by the respective elements of the use case (e.g. element “Simulation” for simulation tools).

Since there is already a strong and sophisticatedly managed community (IDE), this element could simply link to IDE or SC-ITE.
