Job Title: SAP Procurement and OCR/VIM Solution Expert
Purpose of job:
To provide effective configuration and testing and provide second level support in the area of SAP Material Management as deployed in the British Council solution. Will be responsible to ensuring that all queries and service level requirements met in time.
Role context
Responsible for understanding Materials Management (MM) business processes and supporting system functionality. This position requires sound customer service, project management skills, system enhancement activities, end-user training and production support tasks. Manage the SAP configuration and development of new MM system enhancements through test and system validation.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
Business Analysis
Work with colleagues and clients/users to investigate operational issues, problems and new opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes/procedures, organisation and equipment. Assist in the analysis of the underlying issues arising from investigations into requirements and problems, and identifies available options for consideration. (TSBUAN402)
Record work with appropriate documentation, meeting the required standards and uses suitable methods and tools. (TSBUAN404)
Assist users in producing clearly defined acceptance tests for automated systems. (TSBUAN406)
Ability to analyze the supply chain processes, develop process flows, blue print, Requirement Analysis, Gap Analysis, business procedures and create solutions in the SAP MM module. Awareness of Best Practice Solution in Material Management across verticals
Systems Design
Working alone on simple systems or with colleagues on more complex systems, produce outline system specifications covering for example: objectives, scope, constraints (such as performance, resources etc.), hardware, network and software environments, main system functions and information flows, data load and implementation strategies, phasing of development, requirements not met, and alternatives considered. Translates logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance requirements and existing systems. Produces detailed designs including for example: physical data flows, class diagrams, file layouts, common routines and utilities, program specifications or prototypes, and backup, recovery and restart procedures. Produces logical system designs showing for example: processes, objects, data flows, inputs, stored data and outputs. Identifies common processes. (TSDESN405)
Customization of Enterprise structure, Purchasing process and Plant parameters mapping the business process in line with the SAP functionality. Customization of Vendor Account Groups, One time vendors. Good understanding of ASAP implementation methodology.
Drive system design from proposal to the end solution in coordination with other team members improvising on business processes. Independent management of rollouts/changes for his/her work area.
Support
Within a broad area of competence, investigates issues and other requests for support and determines appropriate actions to take. (TSASUP402)
Liaises with systems development staff or suppliers on the development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfil user requirements. (TSASUP406)
Accepts new releases of system software from systems development staff or suppliers. (TSASUP40)
Initiates preventative measures, such as identifying and investigating suspect software and other components. Ensures that existing problems and known errors in systems and services being brought into operation are understood and managed in the same way as those arising from operational incidents. Supports service level management in monitoring the impact of problems on agreed service levels, and initiate any appropriate improvement actions. (TSPBMG403)
Experience in SAP MM purchasing, replenishment, goods movement processes, including purchasing requisition and purchase order processing. Designing, development and implementation of material management in SAP. Configuration of purchase order, purchase documents and requisitions. Experiences in configuration of define Valuation class, Account assignment category, movement types. Experience on Release Strategy, Pricing Procedure and Taxes configuration. Customization of material groups, Material types. Good Receipts (MIGO) with reference and without reference, transfer postings, Goods Issues, Materials documents. Invoice Verification and accounting entries posting knowledge. Knowledge of different payment cycle.
Knowledge of SAP SRM along with Catalogue Content Management. Master Data replication (Product Category Product Master, Service Master, Vendor master). Work On self service Procurement scenario. SRM Organization Model and user creation..
Knowledge of OCR /VIM is must for this position.
Knowledge of P card (Procurement Card) and ILM ( Information life cycle management )would be added advantage
Ability to convince the end user on the system design and solution, showcasing the benefits of the selected solution. Ability to communicate smartly with the end user, giving him/her the feel of importance in the entire process. Set the drive of confidence in what is being delivered to the end customer through smart communication.
Be accountable of the support services, for your module, in coordination with resolving groups whether from within the BC team or outside of BC involving 3rd parties. Ensure support models are defined and published for any new functionality brought into service
Analyse test requirements, design and produce re-usable test scripts and procedures (with expected results) to test new and amended software to be executed by self and other staff. Produce plans to test the effect of the new and changed software on existing systems. (TSTEST406)
Uses normal operating facilities, diagnostic tools, technical manuals, test scripts and systems documentation to identify, diagnose and report on system errors. (TSTEST404)
Provides expert technical knowledge in the configuration of software, other system components and equipment for the systems testing of platform specific versions of software products. (TSSINT401)
Identifies and documents system integration components which will be held in the configuration management system. (TSSINT403)
Build test scenarios covering complete aspect of a process running across different modules and ability to get the tests completed for all the modules involved in a scenario. Ensure impact test cases are available for impact testing across modules, whenever any change is applied. Ensure there is no regression on existing solution or functionality by providing regression test coverage.
Development
Develop systems and system modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well engineered result. (TSPROG401)

Works with clients/users on development projects to make effective use of (object) database management systems (O/DBMS), query languages, and other DB tools and techniques. Qualifications
Experience in SAP MM
Should have done at least 1 end to end implementation and 1 support project
Role specific knowledge and experience
Expert knowledge of SAP Material Management module including configuration and infrastructure along with OCR/VIM and ILM Product
User Support Skills : Receives escalated problems, gathers further information and resolves or channels to appropriate support function. Resolves complex problems affecting use of ICT systems to maintain underlying business process.
Software Development Skills : Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents ICT systems. Takes technical responsibility for several stages in the software development process. Contributes to project and quality plans.
Knowledge of British Council business process Solution for Material Management
Business Systems Analysis Skills :Creates user requirements specification and business case for development of ICT solutions by investigating business processes and business needs. Is proficient in business analysis techniques and information modelling tools.
