Job Description

We are searching for a well-organized self-starter with great attention to detail to join our team as the new warehouse-planning engineer. Day-to-day responsibilities include drawing up work schedules and budgets, delegating tasks, analyzing project specifications and finding cost-effective ways to meet them, liaising with contractors and suppliers, managing resources, and communicating with surveyors, managers, and other engineers. You should be able to analyze data, write reports, and deliver presentations to various stakeholders. To be successful as a planning engineer, you should demonstrate a sound knowledge of the relevant Engineering discipline and be able to anticipate problems. Outstanding planning engineers should have great attention to detail and be able to handle stress well.RESPONSIBILITIES: – Understanding project specifications and developing time schedules and budgets that meet them Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best prices Observing existing processes, analyzing staff performance, and addressing deficiencies accordingly Monitoring and tracking project progress, and writing up reports Attending and scheduling meetings as required Delegating tasks and ensuring workers receive feedback Understanding and meeting all contract requirements Communicating with managers, supervisors, and the rest of the team Analyzing technical drawings and providing material and cost estimates Ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budgetsREQUIREMENTS: – B.E/B.Tech. Graduation is a must 5+ Years of experience in the related field Experience in design of Warehouse (Option analysis, Calculations, preparation of Layouts, URS/ RFQ, Vendor offer evaluation, etc.) Experience in evaluation & selection of Warehouse Racking system & Equipment – Interpersonal/ Coordination skills (with Clients & other stakeholders) Good knowledge of latest technologies/ trends in the field of Warehousing (i.e., Racking systems, WH Material Handling Equipment’s, etc.) – Inventory analysis, Logistic / truck flow study- ACAD ” Warehouse automation – Warehouse Management System – Lead & own the process of preparation of design deliverables with due consideration for applicable Codes & Standards. Take ownership of deliverables produced & their quality coordinating with Clients, Project Managers, other discipline leads/ members and with Vendors. Warehousing calculations to arrive at the requirement of RM/ PM/ FG pallet positions, Racking, Material handling equipment, Docking areas/ dock levelers, etc. Preparation of WH layouts incl. loading & unloading stations Knowledge of all type of racking systems incl. Shuttle and ASRS Logistics study and man material movement for Warehouse Preparation of Technical specification, URS / RFQ for Warehouse Racking & Material handling equipment, Dock levelers, Weighbridges, etc. Knowledge of various types of Warehousing racking systems & material handling equipment available in the market and working knowledge of evaluating various options Evaluation of vendor offers and preparation of Technical Bid Analysis (TBA) Experience in Consultancy/ Warehousing & DC firms is desirable Experience in conceptualizing, establishing & running a warehouse gives an added advantage Working knowledge of ACAD is required Experience with 3D modelling software Proficiency in MS Office Good Verbal and Written communication skillsWHY WORK WITH US?
