Job Purpose:

To perform broader and complex tooling assignments (Tool Design, Tool selection) that meets the fundamentals, guidelines, business unit specific requirement and to provide ongoing high quality high value support to the enterprise.

Job Duties:

Job duties includes but not limited to the following:

Execute feasibility study of the proposed tool design and work with process planning, manufacturing, engineering to arrive at the final functional specification of the tool design. Conceptualize, develop, design tooling as per client requirement & specifications. Execute work holding fixtures design like Assembly build & shipping stands. lifting fixtures, machining fixtures incorporating pneumatic & hydraulic clamps, fit-up fixtures, fixtures for paint shops.

Excellent fundamental working knowledge & experience in the design of Jigs, gauges, templates & work holding fixtures like Assembly build cum shipping fixtures, lifting fixtures, machining fixtures incorporating pneumatic & hydraulic clamps, fit-up fixtures, fixtures for paint shops are mandatory.

Candidate should have very good working knowledge on the assembly tools being used in the assembly line and should be able to select the appropriate tool based on the application & torque requirement. Execute design of Jigs, gauges & templates for various business units per client requirement. Execute selection of cutting tools for the applications, selection of assembly tools for the assembly operations and perform tooling validation to check for ergonomics, accessibility & reachability.

Excellent competency to read & interpret engineering and manufacturing drawing, GD&T symbols required. Candidate should be very fluent in the Creo modelling software or equivalent modelling skills with minimum 3 years of experience is required. Excellent working knowledge on UG NX on modeling & detailing will be an added advantage. Should be able to effectively communicate the project status, updates, results to the stakeholders worldwide, management & Client.

Background / Experience: This position requires thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts, heat treat operations, etc., gained acquisition of an appropriate technical or university degree combined with a minimum of 5 year of appropriate manufacturing experience or a minimum of 8 years as a Manufacturing Technician, or appropriate equivalent external experience. Must possess appropriate language and communication skills.
