SpecialisLead in charge of the stock award accounting for compensation and benefit expenses globally
Responsible for end to end Compensation accounting of the Stock awards portfolios including transformation initiatives and EUC remediation and consolidation .
Also will be directly responsible as the main point of contact to the Regional Controllers/ Country Controllers for the Compensation portfolio team and will also ensure the active participation in the global / regional initiative and in projects addressed to optimize the process related with its activities under country responsibility.
The role offers the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of Country, Cluster and the overall EMEA /APAC/ LATAM Region businesses, to further develop communication skills with people across levels, and to develop a wide network of relationships at the Firm’s corporate level as well as within the businesses across various functions. A successful accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, this expertise will allow the incumbent to develop greater Citi businesses and product knowledge and have direct impact on the Citi Financial close process.
Role and Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Acts as a senior manager role for all Accounting processes managed by Compensation team at FRSS
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results to the senior management and key stakeholders
• Establish and maintain appropriate documentation/controls to ensure the integrity of financial, regulatory and management information.
• Ensures and implement that control process embedded in the process are in-placed and effectively observed for by the team for the various Compensation portfolios and that they are as per the defined procedures (RIF, VIC, Pension, Equity compensation and annual bonus)
• Ensures and implement processes are aligned with the global standards
• To be able to effectively discuss the process changes with Compensation Controllers/ Country controllers, communicate and implement the changes
• • Ensuring the Risk and Control framework in Citi is fully implemented for this process
• Ensures that immediate supervisor is informed of issues and risks (potential or inherent) involving the process/tasks assigned to him/her with the proposed action plan for the resolution Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures where necessary
• Ensure compliance for internal and external audits for the compensation related items.
• Accountable for timely management and ownership of Monthly, Quarterly and Annual closing activities
• Responsible for meeting the defined KPI and communicate the same with stakeholders
• Attend meeting with Regional and Global teams and conducting monthly review call with stakeholders
• Help and contribute to continuous process improvement drives through Bright Ideas keeping in mind the Lean initiatives in-place
Key Deliverables:
• End to End responsibilities for Accounting and reporting of Compensation lines performed globally by the team at FRSS
• Stakeholder management and escalation of issues
• Control and reviews BS and PL and attest as AO
• Apply subject matter expertise to identify, develop, and implement new techniques for process improvement
The role will also be resposnsible for continue to driving FRSS Mumbai Comp Centralisation Intiative for ensuring all compensation accounting process are consolidated in Mumbai and will also lead the drive the control/ regualtory initiatives for FRSS .
Qualifications – Internal
• CA/ MBA
• Post Graduate or certifications a plus
Experience:
• 9 + years’ experience in General Ledger Accounting
• Proved experience in accounting lead roles or equivalent experience in similar profiles in Compensation accounting
• Communication skills: will be interacting with staff at a variety of levels, including very senior audiences, on a variety of internally driven and function driven deliverables. The ability to articulate ‘big picture’ and present to senior management is essential.
• Excellent issue management skills
• Ability to analyse & interpret financial information
